Saturday NOT so Live!
How embarrasing!
It is of everyone's knowledge that SNL is not Live anymore. Did you notice how during Weekend Update, Tina Fey said that the Red Sox had won the first game? That was added later, the edit was not that clean.
But the worst part was Ashlee Simpson, Jessica's sister. She Lip-synched, and i thought she was quite a good live singer or so it seems in the Sessions @ AOL featured video: http://channels.netscape.com/ns/music/videos/sessions.jsp
Musical guests usually sing twice, not Ashlee, poor thing. At the begininig of the first song: "Pieces of Me", started like a double chorus, karaoke like, then, after something like the engineer's adjusment, it tend to sound, echoed as if it was outdoors? Nothing of the regular hi quiality live sound. On the second appearance, the sound engineer played "Pieces Of Me" again, and the band followed! but Ashlee was singing a different song, but only for a brief moment, then she jumped offstage...!
At the end when the host thanks everyone, there was nothing but apologies about it "that is what happens in live TV..." Ashlee said. (Not Lip-Synching, I reckon).
